1. Claude Fable 5.1 lands on Amazon Bedrock — frontier-grade agentic coding and multi-hour autonomous work inside your own AWS environment. The architect’s caveat: Anthropic designates it a Covered Model, so access requires opting into data retention through the Data Retention API — read those terms before you wire it into a regulated workload. 2. Amazon Quick is generally available — describe a project tracker, a portal, a dashboard in natural language and get a working app. Internal tools just became a prompt, not a project; the build-vs-buy line for back-office tooling moved. (announcement)

Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases: user-managed (3LO) connectors for SharePoint, OneDrive and Confluence — connect enterprise content with a user sign-in instead of tenant-admin app credentials; Bedrock stores the OAuth refresh token in a Secrets Manager secret it creates for you. 4. EC2 lets AMI owners declare compatible instance types — specify supported or unsupported instance types on your AMI, and non-permitted launches are blocked at the control plane. Compatibility guardrails move from wiki pages into enforcement — golden-AMI teams should encode their support matrix now. (coverage)

Industry signal — Anthropic released Claude Commerce Agents, an Apache-2.0 blueprint for shopping and merchant agents (deployable via Bedrock among others). Notable design choices: payments stay out of the model’s hands, and merchant-side changes are gated behind human approval. Agentic commerce is getting standard patterns — read them before you invent your own.
